Narrative Writing

This week have used 

Te Ika a Maui 

as an influence for our narrative writing.

We read the legend, then wrote the orientation and finished off writing our own complication and resolution.

The finished works were wonderful

Week 3

Kowhai's Artists

We have experimented with colour this week.

We have used Kandanisky 

as an inspiration for our art.

Cinderella and Rockerfella
We had added bling to our black silhouette.

Colour Experiment 

We have conducted an experiment to see what would happen when we placed four different colours in milk, then added a small amount of dishwashing liquid.

Week 2

Learning In Our Maths Groups

This week we have been learning about compatible numbers.

Numbers that go together.  For the group squares they were working together to find numbers that make 10.

Here they are using their white boards to find out the answers to equations like, 4 + 5 + 5 + 6 + 1 + 3

Term 3 Week 1

Cinderella and Rockerfella Art

We have started some Cinderella and Rockerfella Art with a brightly coloured background and have added a black shape associated with the Cinderella.

We have used a crown, a glass slipper or guitar.

They are not quite finished.   Have another look next week to see the completed master pieces.

Jump Jam

It has been some time since the school participated in Jump Jam.

What a great way to celebrate a fantastic sunny day!

Term 2

Well done to all the students in Kowhai.  They have all worked really hard this term.

Congratulations to Keisha and Sophie who received awards today for showing this terms values.

Week 10

House Folk Dancing Competition

What a great way to finish the term.

On Thursday afternoon we had a house folk dancing competition.  All of the student were involved and 

enjoyed performing in front of the judges.

Well done to Raumahanga who won the competition.
